A classmate and I worked on a upcoming trend and came up with a trend book for F/W 2014-2015 called Anvil Play.
It was inspired by a blacksmith's wardrobe. The apron is the most influential in these designs. The apron can be created in interesting shapes so we used it to create panels, half moon hems, and baggy silouhettes.
We wanted to stay true to the use of raw, pure materials so our fabrics were 100% wools for the knits, and cotton velvet because it portrays an unpolished texture. There is also manipulation of fabrics. The metallic coated sweaters are a play on the aftermath of a blacksmiths work. The colors are amplified to give the trend a modern feel.
